Qygen – 721 by Qygen

Here’s a Qygen track that I forgot to post about earlier, but it’s rapidly becoming one of my favourites. Once again, the Goa-style melodies are just fantastic, as well as the deep breakdowns and hardcore section to finish. Most people will have heard this already, but it’s a must-download if you haven’t.

Qygen’s back to continue his one-man Goacore movement with yet another awesome tune. Ecumenopolis has just about everything – oldskool Goa melodies, pads in the breakdown, and a slightly stronger-than-usual Suge influence in a few of the sounds. Really quality stuff, this.

SoundCloud’s misbehaving at the moment, but check out this link if you can.

Betwixt & Between-SPIDER-96kbps by TOTAL DISCOMMUNICATION

Betwixt & Between has been busy lately with three new tracks that really show off his versatility. First we have SPIDER, an excellent schranz/hardcore track that has a very strong Nomic feel to it, while SO SWEET BITTER DAYS goes into bouncy UK territory, with a lovely breakdown. Ultra World 6 is a fantastic rework of the DJ Eclipse classic, Ultra World 5, definitely doing the original justice and introducing all sorts of new elements. Check Betwixt’s SoundCloud to hear all three, and download low-quality previews.

It’s been a while since we last heard from Tyranoid/Strongstream, but they’re back with this awesome music video to promote their new(ish) remix, Massive Line. Complete with footage of the guys playing at events, it’s really well put together and very atmospheric, especially with the trademark acid coming in towards the end. Congratulations to T&S on a very nice project!

Amini – Guitarian – Mixed (Unmastered) by DJ-Amini

More posts to come tomorrow, but for now here’s a look at Amini’s newest track, Guitarian. Once again, the progress he’s making with his production is obvious – this one has a nicely rough feel in between the trancy melodies, and isn’t that breakdown great? Personally I might have taken advantage of the momentum it builds up, and brought the kick back sooner, but otherwise this is really quality stuff.

Alchemiist – The Dome (clip) by Alchemiist

Yet another quality sounding preview from Alchemiist, The Dome is a freeform track with a definite Japanese feel to it. A very long breakdown, but it follows that up with some trademark synths and an excellent, driving main section.

Completely unrelated, but in other news the TYFTH forum is still going to happen! I was deciding on initial boards today, and all being well there should be something for everyone to sign up to next week…

Cyrez – The Brain Controls Pain (Electronica Exposed, CLIP) by Cyrez

Fans of Cyrez’s dark and atmospheric sound should rejoice – he now has a SoundCloud account, complete with some previously unreleased material. Rock n Load and his remix of Digital Destruction are downloadable for the first time, and there’s also a clip of his newest track, The Brain Controls Pain.

There are plenty of other tunes up there too, incuding one of my all-time favourites, Private Demon, and the Elegy remix that I’ve played to death during the past few months.

Grimsoul & Pain On Creation – Fury Theme by FINRG Recordings

Another massive release from Grimsoul, but this time featuring Pain on Creation! We can only pray that this is a proper return to the scene, as Fury Theme is as good a comeback tune as you could hope for. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard these synth fills and melancholy melodies, this time with that unmistakeable Grimsoul sound. Here in Tokyo you’re still almost guaranteed to hear a PoC track at any freeform event, so this’ll surely be one of the most popular releases of the year so far.

Grimsoul – Jään hautaamat 2012 by FINRG Recordings

This week saw Grimsoul’s latest (and very welcome) release, an update to the 5-year-old Jään hautaamat. The original is an absolute classic, so it’s nice that this version doesn’t alter too much and instead spruces up the melodies and bass with some 2011/2012 production quality. Grimsoul fans should stay alert, as there may well be some more material on the way before too long.
