Remember the Munted! Takeover set from a few years ago? After really enjoying putting together Lucky Lotus 6 with Shimotsukei, I’ve been thinking that some sort of TYFTH mix series with a few DJs taking part each time (with 3 tracks each to play with, say) could be an interesting way to get a few more sets online and to spread the sound at a time when it really needs it.

What with the new forum I’ve also been listening to E-NRG’s classic Welcome to FINRG, and a collaborative Welcome to TYFTH could be a nice test run in the new year…or could it? Any thoughts?

        It’s a great idea 😀

You can certainly count me in. I had such a fun time with our mix this year as well

I’d be up for that, I’m no stranger to distance collaborative mixes 🙂

Was just thinking out loud really, but that’d already give us a tidy lineup 🙂

I wouldn’t be able to do much with the idea until January, so let’s see how much interest there is til then. Goes without saying, but NRG’s just as welcome – actually if the mix series idea gets off the ground then an NRG-only set could be pretty amazing…

Even a structured progression might be quite nice

If you set out guidelines that the first 6 tracks or so are hard NRG before moving on to freeform.

Definitely – I was expecting things to work out that way, without any real guidelines and just dependent on which DJs take part.

There are so few NRG-only sets these days, it just occurred to me that a collab set of NRG-centric producers (a lineup comes to mind right away…) is worth thinking about for the future 🙂

I’d be all over the idea of an NRG-only set. Mixes like Guld’s Kaiser Belial and most of Solvynt’s Freeformaniacs Round 20 set represent the side of the scene I’ve felt myself more drawn to lately, but sadly those seem to be a rarity.
