Carbon Based – Ancestor by FINRG Recordings
A few of the FINRG releases I mentioned last week are starting to arrive now, as well as the slightly (!) delayed Ancestor, from Carbon Based. It’s still a great track and mixes quite easily into a lot of different tunes, so it should be a useful one for the DJs out there.
Other tunes include a new (I think) drum and bass/breakbeat tune from The Sauna Boys and a couple of unreleased Pain on Creation edits. The Fatal Error edit of Lush is an interesting one – it’s 180bpm (instead of the original 170), but is missing the ‘main’ melody from the breakdown onwards. The crazy synths sound amazing at this faster bpm though…
As usual, the FINRG SoundCloud is the place to find these tracks.
How gorgeous is ancestor? Its a really aesthetic tune. Really like how smooth the lead melody is. It’s also a big step up for me, as i’ve found Carbon Based’s drops to be a little flat and not too exciting, but Ancestor’s got it. I think Carbon Based have done it for me this time, keep you’re eyes out for this one in my next CD ;P
Hallelujah!
It got to a point where I just simply recorded Ancestor off from FINRG’s preview player… D:
Still, it’s great to officially have it.
The SaunaBoys’ track was nice; I was pleasently surprised. :3

Yup, good point about the drop…have you seen that video of CB at (I think) Konemetsa? Ancestor did some serious damage there!

The Sauna Boys tune was a nice surprise, wasn’t it? From the sounds used in the track it must be brand new..
Recently I heard about another SB tune called ‘One Night in Lahti’ – no sign of it at the moment, but hope it turns up somewhere 🙂
