{"id":1538,"date":"2016-03-18T21:31:33","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T12:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thankyouforthehorse.com\/?p=1538"},"modified":"2016-03-18T21:32:43","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T12:32:43","slug":"cuedy-freeformaniacs-round-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thankyouforthehorse.net\/?p=1538","title":{"rendered":"Cuedy &#8211; Freeformaniacs Round 21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/244945435&amp;color=73ab43&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Label shenanigans are maybe one instrument too many for the TYFTH one-man band, but the past month has seen a lot of quality mixes and I&#8217;ll be highlighting a few when I have the chance.<\/p>\n<p>First up is Cuedy&#8217;s recent Freeformaniacs set &#8211; an hour of standard-issue TYFTH-friendly tracks (which is a very good thing), punctuated by two or three really nice transitions and a couple of tracklist surprises.<\/p>\n<p>Obvious shouts to Cuedy for starting with Betwixt &amp; Between&#8217;s <em>Eternal[l]y<\/em>, followed by a really good connection in Alchemiist&#8217;s <em>Pain <\/em>remix. The rest of the set alternates between nastier filters and melodic interludes, and I was glad to see that classic tracks were given special attention in terms of transitions &#8211; we&#8217;ve all been listening to them for so long now, they really should. Eryk Orpheus&#8217; <em>Pyjama Sonata <\/em>was a nice follow up to <em>Supriya<\/em>, while Alabaster&#8217;s <em>Flamberge <\/em>was the big surprise of the set.
