First we have quite a well known tune &#8211; <em>The Mystics <\/em>from my favourite producer of the era, PFM. This one&#8217;s from 1996, and as deep as they come.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Next is a very chilled track from Photek, a real pioneer whose drum programming was on another level, just amazing stuff. <em>T-Raenon<\/em> (1996 again) has a different feel to some of his more minimal tracks (check <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tiYrYUc5zCk&amp;feature=related\">Rings Around Saturn<\/a> <\/em>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9qJKxaWb0_A&amp;feature=related\"><em>Ni Ten Ichi Ryu<\/em><\/a>), but the usual great drumming.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/dMd79E0PVhg&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/dMd79E0PVhg&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Jonny L has been around since the very early days (have a listen to the classic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TtR5T5QI3GM&amp;feature=related\"><em>Hurt You So<\/em><\/a>), but in the mid-90s he was producing some nice ambient tunes too. I first heard <em>Tychonic Cycle<\/em> in a Bukem set, it&#8217;s been a favourite ever since.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/8qnzrqmU7qs&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/8qnzrqmU7qs&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p><em>Expressions Pt.2 <\/em>by Dave Wallace was quite an overlooked tune at the time, but it&#8217;s got just about everything &#8211; great bassline, deep pads and that addictive melody over the top.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/znAUn_w7GR8&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/znAUn_w7GR8&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Going back a year to 1995, here&#8217;s <em>True Romance<\/em> from DJ Pulse. I first heard it in a mixtape by my cousin in 1996, really nice drums in this one.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/a4C6IKFoiU4&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/a4C6IKFoiU4&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>We haven&#8217;t had an amen track yet, so try the amazing PFM remix of JMJ &amp; Richie&#8217;s <em>Free La Funk<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"340\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/oNl7-0N30NA&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/oNl7-0N30NA&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"340\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>The next couple of tunes are both from 1997, when the mid-nineties sound started to be left behind a bit. There were still plenty of great tracks though, including <em>Eastern Promise<\/em> from Intense.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/ajADl_gb9F0&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/ajADl_gb9F0&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Next is <em>The Ephemeris <\/em>by Future Bound. Beautiful opening to the track, and extremely chilled out from start to finish.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/8panekJBpP8&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/8panekJBpP8&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Finally (before I kill the site again), here&#8217;s Voyager&#8217;s <em>Apollo<\/em>. His <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Bgry3dVTYA4\">Hypersleep<\/a> <\/em>is one of my favourite tunes, but this one was a few years later (1998).
