{"id":4320,"date":"2024-06-05T15:39:36","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T06:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thankyouforthehorse.net\/?p=4320"},"modified":"2024-06-05T15:39:36","modified_gmt":"2024-06-05T06:39:36","slug":"momokan-escape-the-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thankyouforthehorse.net\/?p=4320","title":{"rendered":"momokan &#8211; Escape the Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=3613243258\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=e99708\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/momokan.bandcamp.com\/album\/escape-the-time\">Escape the Time by \u6843\u7f50(\u3082\u3082\u304b\u3093\/momokan)<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One of the other big releases recently was a lot less conventional than <em>Ephemanent<\/em>, showing what a good state the scene is in these days &#8211; at least in terms of new tracks being produced. <em>Escape the Time <\/em>is more on the freeform fringes, what with the very strong psy\/hi-tech influences, but it&#8217;s definitely worth a TYFTH mention as one of the most diverse EPs there&#8217;s been for a while.<\/p>\n<p>While the first two tracks are probably the furthest from freeform, I really enjoy the progression of\u00a0<em>Impending Flux\u00a0<\/em>and the goa-esque melodies that appear in the second half. This is one that really could find a good home in a darker, psychedelic set.\u00a0<em>Depths of Phantasmagoria\u00a0<\/em>starts as my favourite track on the EP, but slightly loses steam by heading in a less goa direction from the breakdown onwards. Following that is the excellent new version of <em>Cinder Glade,\u00a0<\/em>then more quality Nirotiy, this time with a remix of <em>Elk Cloner<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Although this might not be an EP you&#8217;ll have on repeat given how unusual most of the tracks are, there are some brilliant ideas in here and it deserves support.
