Right then, Munted! is all over (and what a great night\/morning it was), so it’s about time I caught up on some of the stuff that’s been happening lately. If I’ve missed anything, feel free to let us know in the comments down below.<\/p>\n

Maybe the biggest freeform event of last week was the release of the excellent Freeformaniacs and Ruffbeatz compilation,\u00a0Freeformatted Vol.1<\/a>. <\/em>With tunes from Le Dos-on, Wyrm, Qygen and others, this is a quality (and free) first release that deserves some support.<\/p>\n A recent mix highlight was (tellingly) a five-year-old set from Twisted Freq, now re-released in super-high quality by Electronica Exposed.\u00a0Darkest Halloween Tale<\/a>\u00a0is one of the very few mixes that I’ve kept close at hand ever since it first appeared, and was a brilliant effort by TF to showcase the Kreatrix sound during a real golden age for the label. Also including some of the last genuinely dark freeform tunes from Betwixt & Between, it’s an absolute must-listen.<\/p>\n Substanced’s follow up to his artist album is on the way – titled The Second Collapse<\/em>, there’s a really nice selection of artists here, (almost) all remixing recent Substanced tunes. A few of the Japanese crew were hacking away on their own tunes, but it’s Le Dos-on who actually managed to put something together. His Shadows of Tomorrow <\/em>remix is a great new version with some mad synths, there’s no mistaking the Le Dos-on sound in this one. Obviously massive congrats go to Chip\/Dyzphazia too, for his work with Transcend on the Skullcrush <\/em>remix. Here’s the full tracklist:<\/p>\n Speaking of Le Dos-on, a tune I forgot to mention was his upcoming\u00a0Morning For It<\/a>, a lovely Alek Szahala-esque melodic freeform track.<\/p>\n Amini has also been previewing a new track –\u00a0Aminius<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is\u00a0another ridiculously well-produced effort that shows what progress he’s making.<\/p>\n\n
