  1. Awesome post! Happily I have Last.fm account so this list was easy to make.

    1. Alek Száhala – Freezing Clouds
    2. Epyx & Cyrez – Static Response
    3. RoughSketch – Amanda
–last seven, as this is top ten–
    4. Thanatos – Rumble Iciclefall
    5. Alek Száhala – Solar Hive
    6. RoughSketch – No Hands
    7. Mindless Faith – The Dust Of Centuries
    8. RaverRose / ThermalForce – Eternal Cannon
    9. t+pazolite vs. RoughSketch – Bloody Serenade
    10. RoughSketch – Yellow Monkey’s Wonderful Night

  2. Another great post! This is a really tough decision for me to make. The year 2009 was the year I basically dived into Freeform, having only discovered it by the end of 2008. I heard many great tracks for the first time this year, but here it goes:

    1. Alek Száhala – Xochitlán
    2. Alek Száhala – Supriya (live edit)
    3. Nomic – The Last Breath

These tunes were the ones who touched me the most. I had never heard anything like them before. It’s true I chose very “emotional” tracks, but they just hit me in a way I never knew music was able to. I think I’m being unfair by reducing all my favourite tracks to a sheer top 3, really; I was going to make an honorable mention list, but the post was starting to get *too* big, so I’ll have to leave it as that. :/

One more thing I have to say is that TYFTH was outstanding in every possible way; I truly can not ask for more. You are great PlasmaDancer and I officially want to have your babies. :p

Happy new year to everyone and I hope next year will be even better!

  3. Interesting way to see 2009 out. 🙂

    Happy New Year, guys!

    So my top3 of 2009?
    1) Guld – Nightmare Freak 2009 (Wonderland)
    2) Velvet Cyan Project – Over The Noise Of The Living (DJ RX Remix)
    3) Thermalforce – Almegiddo

Only one of them came out this year, but these are the three tunes i’ve mixed the most…

  4. I agree with BerN and Skadi, it’s almost impossible to narrow it down to 3 tracks…thanks for taking the time to choose though, some great lists there 🙂

  5. 1. Alek Szahala – Sunray
    2. Gammer – Chainsaw Bass (Matt Lee Remix)
    3. CB & RX – Titor’s Quantum Theory

  6. I am, like BerN, new to the scene and most of the freeform tunes I know of I came across in 2009. Thanks for opening up the scene to me through your website Plasmadancer. Almost every day there is something new to read about and I have gotten great responds to my comments on here. Keep up the good work!

Like many of you already have said, it is close to impossible to list the top three tunes.
Therefor my list of top tunes released in 2009 is made up of the tunes that first came to mind, not restricted to freeform.

    1. Alek Szahala – Voices of Babylon
    2. Audiowarp – New Generation
    3. Betwixt & Between – Genshi Kurage

New Generation and Genshi Kurage are the tunes I listened to the most in the later part of last year. Voices of Babylon hasn’t been out officially for long but it still takes the number one spot with no competition.

Also I would like to add a honourable mention of Grimsoul (Moment of Wonder, Kadotettu Todellisuus 2009 to name a few)

Happy new year to you all! 🙂

  7. Just noticed that Moment of Wonder was released in december 2008 so just replace that with I’ll Bring The Storm. 🙂

Now when I’m at it I should also add Substanced under the honourable mentions for his Anima Mercury and Freeform Mercury in particular.

  8. Thanks for the new entries!
Thanks too for the kind words, Nisse, glad this place has been some help 🙂
