  1. i personally dont produce (yet) but i am saving up for equipment, got my eyes firmly on an m audio axiom pro 25 and fl studio9, can you get good results without a really expensive effects processor and if not whats the best to get? and what is the best way to get the phattest kick drum sound?

  2. Well I think I don’t have any kind of ‘specific’ questions in my mind, rather I’m interested in general what people use for producing – in this case: do you use only hw synths or do you use VST (or AU) softsynths, and if, can you give some little list? I mainly use Vanguard and z3ta+, but I feel like I could try something new too.

Not saying that you can get good results by using only some specific plugins, more likely it’s about the fact that there are thousands VSTi plugins out there and I don’t feel like I’d want to crawl through all those – just that some advice would be nice.

  3. Jiipez, try Nexus and/or Sylenth. I got them both, and they both have a whole lotta sounds for almost any genre you want to produce.

I’d also like to know something about the topic hw vs. sw (ie. which is better, if one is), I personally don’t use any hardware, due to lack of cash haha.

I’d be nice if people shared their mind. 🙂

  4. I just ask this here, because someone may have an idea…

Does anyone know, which Sequencer/VSTi Alabaster is using?
I’d like to get a closer look into his prodtuction style, but it’s totally impossible to contact japanese people, due to the language barrier. It’s not that haven’t tried it in the past…

  5. From the dabbling in production i’ve done, i would recommend Massive for basslines (Dubstep is basically designed around this synth from what i understand) and Albino3 for leads

  6. Thanks for the comments guys, I’ll see what Android makes of them, and I’ve got some stuff to ask him too.

He’s actually gone way beyond the call of duty with this one, as originally I was planning to do a 2-3 people lineup similar to the first post. Anyway, it’ll be great to get a bit more depth this time round, and that’ll still be happening in the future (when hopefully you’ll get the answer to your question, Gaia 🙂 ).
