Dyzphazia – Untitled, Unmastered and Unfinished by Dyzphazia

It’s Dyzphazia to the rescue again, this time with a super-high bpm version of the Hard NRG mix I’ve been searching for recently. This one starts off with Nemesis, followed by some very nicely selected Hard NRG, pitched up to within an inch of its life. On the freeform side of things there are some great choices, especially Alabaster’s Sarcomite and Leadbeater from Alchemiist and J-Mx, while standout mixes for me were Heartburn>The NRG and Major Paranoia’s Suspicion>Resurrection. Excellent stuff from our man, very highly recommended.

J-Mx and Labraska have done a good job with the tracklist on SoundCloud, but here’s the full version:

  1. Betwixt & Between – Nemesis
  2. Lab 4 – Candyman (Guyver remix)
  3. Android Lime – Robot Noize (DJ X remix)
  4. Alf Bamford – Heartburn (Dark by Design remix)
  5. Lab 4 – The NRG
  6. Twisted Freq – Hanuman Visits Lanka (Epyx & Cyrez remix)
  7. Alek Szahala – Sunray (Android Lime remix)
  8. Shanty – Major Paranoia’s Suspicion (Epyx & Cyrez remix)
  9. Lab 4 – Resurrection (Napalm Mix)
  10. Alchemiist & J-Mx – Leadbeater
  11. Trevor Jones – Last of the Mohicans (Alek Szahala remix)
  12. Marco V – Godd (Tyranoid & Strongstream remix)
  13. Alabaster – Sarcomite
  14. Betwixt & Between – Dust to Dust
  15. DJ Rx – My Serenity (Synthwulf remix)

This set is a month or so old, but the link via Nomic’s site has been dead for a while. For anyone who missed the inspired/insane reworks of children’s songs, check it out instead on Alek Szahala’s download page. Stick with the set until the end as things gradually speed up, ending with a lovely chiptune from Nomic, his Winwon Windows sound effect-track, and finally some Nomic-brand speedcore.

It’s the quietest summer for a few years, but there are still some great tracks out there. A few of these have had some play time in my off-the-cuff ustream sets, and might even end up in the next ‘studio mix’ (which I’m finally starting to think about again).

One of the things that has inspired me to do another real mix is this unbelievable Prodigy-only set from Bluefire. It was originally posted 5 years ago (!), but I dug it out again after listening to the Experience album this past week. Prodigy tunes aren’t really set up for mixing (as anyone who has tried will tell you), which makes some of the double drops/epic transitions in Bluefire’s set even more amazing. It’s absolutely recommended for anyone who hasn’t heard it yet, and after the slower opening section it thankfully concentrates on the Experience/Jilted Generation era. Check out Bluefire’s original post on Dogs On Acid, there might be an active link there somewhere.

  1. Dye In Sound – The Storyteller
  2. Betwixt & Between – Point Of No Return
  3. Proteus – Fist Of The North Star
  4. Samuel K – Neuromancer
  5. Suge – Tanasinn
  6. Betwixt & Between – Enter the Void
  7. Aquanox – Killer Loop
  8. Cyrez – Rock n Load
  9. Poly Calamity – Unam Sanctum
  10.  Nomic – Muuttolintu

Nazomix by TOTAL DISCOMMUNICATION

More from SoundCloud – this time it’s an amazingly creative DJ set from Betwixt & Between. The nazo part of the title means ‘mystery’, and the mix lives up to it with mashed up vocal tunes, hard(core) techno sections and some NRG/freeform towards the end. Most of these vocal tunes would be painful in the extreme at normal speed, but at this bpm and joined by a massive kick they work really well. The mixing’s impressive too, it feels quite similar to one of Betwixt’s NRGetic Romancer Live PAs.

Really worth checking out, then – and while you are on the TOTAL DISCOMMUNICATION page, why not have a listen to some much older Betwixt tracks that were recently uploaded too.

I’m a couple of months late with this one, but the Operation Karma site has been updated with a new mix from my old Hell’s Gate co-DJ, Minagi. I’ll get a tracklist as soon as possible as there are a lot of tunes I don’t know, but it’s well worth a listen as an example of his style, running through hard house, NRG and finishing with freeform. Nice opening tune too…it sounds like an anime theme, but I’ve no idea what.

Check the mix out via the Operation Karma site, just click on ‘Promo Mix’ to listen.

Dyzphazia (aka TYFTH’s Chip) played this set recently, and after checking it out I thought it was well worth sharing with everyone. All the DJs at the event had a 30 minute time slot, and as the event was more hard dance than hardcore Dyzphazia went for a hard trance/slowed down freeform set. I think it works very well, and Fleshfest is a great way to finish – it might not have the power to end a full-on freeform set, but here it’s a perfect step up from the more trancey sounds. The mixing’s also very good, so well done to Chip for this one – after chatting last night during my online set it seems like there’s more to come, too.

  1. Grimsoul – UG
  2. Sam One – Royal Flush
  3. Substanced – Apocalypse 2010
  4. Altitude – Altitude (Substanced bootleg)
  5. Rank One – Airwave (Betwixt & Between remix)
  6. DJ Rx, Carbon Based, Proteus – Fleshfest

It’s been a while, but here’s another dose of nasty NRG from Decion. This set opens up with some storming tunes, and even if the later tracks don’t quite match up (nothing from Alchemiist this time, unfortunately), Decion’s mixing is as good as ever and keeps the set pumping along in fine style.

1. Dramatik & Bass Junction – Ground Control [Spin]
2. Glennroy – Lab Rat [Raw Power Recordings]
3. Ben Townsend – Chemical Evolution [Toolbox Recordings]
4. Anna K & Irish Dave & Defective Audio – Driller [Encoded NRG]
5. Defective Audio Vs. Tom Urwin & Weazal – Tech Support [Definition Recordings]
6. Dramatik – Parasite [Tonka Trax]
7. Defective Audio & Tony D – Shoot to Thrill [Awsum Hard]
8. Wayne Smart & Phatt-Beats Vs. Defective Audio – Death Warrant [Encoded NRG]
9. Gem Stone & Steve Hewitt Vs. Sparx – Look At My Growler [Raw Power Recordings]

By the way,has anyone heard a decent Lab 4-style NRG set recently? It seems like the last one was a few months back (Kohl’s Degenerate) and it’s definitely about time for a new one…

In the past week or so the Hardcore Tano*C site has been spruced up with a clean new design and a few new features. Looks like there’ll be an official shop coming before too long, but the front page is worth checking out right now for the Ustream footage from RED ALiCE’s last show – an epic 3 hour set that has some great tunes if you like your J-Core.

Talking of Ustream, I’ll probably be doing another live set this weekend – not 100% sure when though, so watch this space.

Epyx – The Eidolon of the Blind (Dj Set) by Epyx

You might remember Epyx’s excellent industrial/NRG set from last year? Well here’s more of the same, another very well chosen selection of tunes that goes all the way up from industrial to gabber. Once again I was really impressed – the first half of this set is in particular is about as well-constructed as I’ve heard for a long time. The second half doesn’t quite match up, but the choice of tunes is great, with some recent and not-so-recent dark freeform working well together.

Check it out at Epyx’s SoundCloud, along with a remix of Rammstein’s Ich Will.

BEEZEE – BEHEMOTH by BEEZEE

Been a bit slow on the updates this week, but thanks to BEEZEE from the UK we now have a brand new set to check out. He got in touch recently, thinking that it might appeal to the TYFTH crew – it’s a really nice mix of old and new, and the first half especially has some genuine classics in there. The Kevin Energy remix of Anger Ball doesn’t really match up to the original in my opinion, but it definitely works well here to link between the older tracks and Horzi/Substanced’s sound. The mixing is very tight too, so this is another recommended mix.

1. NOMIC – FALLING STAR

2. GRIMSOUL – MOMENT OF WONDER

3. SUBSTANCED AND GRIMSOUL – HARDER THAN YOU THINK

4. ALEK SZAHALA – CHIMAERA

5. RX AND PAIN ON CREATION – SUPER SONIC

6. LOST SOUL – BEYOND SALVATION

7. CARBON BASED – ANGER BALL (KEVIN ENERGY RMX)

8. HORZI – INFERNAL PSYCHO

9. SUBSTANCED – ESCALATE

10. SUBSTANCED – EL ORFANATO

Thanks again to BEEZEE – check out his SoundCloud page here.
