It’s always hard to find good video of Alek Szahala, but the other day I came across this 5 minute clip from this year’s Konemetsä. It looks like it was a great set, but listen out especially for the track at 1.40 – it’s the first time for me to hear this one – classic Alek, complete with another beautiful breakdown.
haha, the title in the beginning says “it’s not recommended to dance while taking video-footage, the video-material looks too stupid” 🙂
Haha, thanks for the translation…I’ve seen much worse videos though 😉
Great vid! I long for the day I can be watching/listening one of his sets live.
I did think it was akward as hell to see him perform in daylight, though…
And let’s hope that track will be released soon, too. :3
ye mate am the same one day I will witness one of his live sets
we should organise Konemetsa2010 meet up ???

There’s no dark moments in Finland’s summer. Alek performed this live at 3 – 4 am…
But what about releases… Alek has said that Forgotten tracks is still coming “soon”, one track may be released on a vinyl, and according to dj Thumpa’s post at finrg board, another on ReBuild Music (or any other label runned by Thumpa).

3-4am..? Wow, I thought the same as BerN – didn’t realise it was ‘that’ light during Finland’s summer…
About releases, I don’t know too much more than that either…I heard something about a new track – but not (yet) as a ‘stand-alone’ release, only included in a mix compilation. Don’t think I’m allowed to say more than that for now 😉

Now there’s an idea:) The schedules didn’t work out for me this year, but a Konemetsä meetup would be awesome. Looks like I’ll be in Europe sometime next year, anyway..
3 am and it’s already day? Well, that’s… different. 😐
But, yeah, meeting all there would be great, no doubt about it. I wouldn’t be able to go with you guys already next year, though. :/
ye am up for a meet up!!!!
a dont speak any finnish tho?? would that matter ??

Looking at the English of all the FINRG/Hybridize crew (and Mr Decion/Mr Jiipez above) I reckon we’d be ok!
What’s the name of the first track in the video?

The first track is Lagash 🙂
🙂
And What about the third track, the one after Voices of Babylon?
Words cannot describe it 😛

I hadn’t heard that one before, so I’m in the dark too….wish we could hear more of it, another classic in the making 🙂
Alright, lets hope we’ll hear more of it on LSO Radio the 2nd of december. 🙂
Also, Im wondering what is taking so long with the release of Voices of Babylon, I thought that track was finished long ago. :S
Yup, I think it was, but I saw a comment from Alek on his site recently – saying something about the mixdown being incredibly bad etc etc, so maybe that’s delaying it…
