On the spur of the moment I braved a trip to the armpit of Tokyo (aka Roppongi) last night, to check out a new Goa event. This one caught my eye with its 90s/oldskool Goa theme, and despite INDIGO being one of the smallest DJ bars I’ve ever seen, it was a fun event with a friendly crowd and some quality selections from the DJs.
I was a bit lost with the lineup (as was everyone else I asked), but recognised plenty of older tunes, and even some Filteria towards the end of the night. The guest DJ (SHIORI) played an unusual set of repetitive semi-Goa that was mixed really well, while the night also featured a couple of real veterans who were obviously around in the very early days. The video at the top of the post was taken in the middle of one of their sets (just after SHIORI), and gives a decent idea of the atmosphere, complete with the (deliberate) blackouts that came at the end of every tune…
looks very nice
often these small events have their own kind of unique atmosphere.. beside freeform, goa-trance has a very special place in my heart
