Members of the Freeform Forum will have seen this announcement already – Dyzphazia (our man Chip) and Midas are setting up Munted! Monthly!, a freeform-only show on Krafty Radio, and I’m honoured to have been invited to play a guest set on the first edition. DJ Douglas of Hard Beats Collective is the other guest, making an impressive four hours’ worth of full-on freeform.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get freeform even more exposure, and the ‘global’ angle of the DJ selections should result in the Krafty crew hearing some artists/styles for the first time. I usually like to take a few years to pick tunes for a set, but I’ll be doing my best to choose some must-listen Japanese tunes amongst the new releases/promos. Thanks a million to Chip and Midas for a very rare chance to show what the Tokyo scene is all about.
Hopefully there’ll be a good TYFTH contingent listening on the 17th – it all starts at 10pm GMT on Krafty Radio.
Thanks for the post, Jon 😀
I’m planning on bringing with me to Krafty, my tastes in ‘different’ freeform (Its different for most of the UK lot anyways), trying to make the UK a little more aware of the Japanese and Finnish scenes.
I hope the idea takes off a little bit more. I’d love to see more Finnish and Japanese tunes at events!
The problem with UK scenes in general when it comes to Harder/Faster music is people tend to be quite Xenophobic… I’m trying to breed that out of people.
The UK Freeform scene tends to be alot more accepting and open minded. Which makes it the perfect place to start. Rather than the UK Hardcore and Hard Dance scenes which are the most Xenophobic scene’s i’ve ever come across… lol.
You’ll probably have noticed me playing alot more UK stuff than ever before… This is (not only because i like it) because I’m trying to ease the situation rather than force it 🙂
Fantastic News Chip!
Good news!!:D
Tano*c and Munted on the same day!
Tano*C? :O
Please tell me they’re streaming that event! lol 😀
They usually do, so probably yes (12.30-18.30 JST).
It’s during the day? O.o
Any idea what site they stream to? 🙂
Eh, I’ll miss this one.
