This set from DJ Yediah is a very welcome return by him to freeform mixing, and is one I missed from a month or so back. If you haven’t checked it out already it’s an excellent mix of old and new, with a really pleasing flow from start to finish.

  1. Digital Anarchy vs Skampy & Mayhem – Illusions Of Sound (Horzi & Meke Remix)
  2. Grimsoul – Kadotettu Todellisuus 2009
  3. Substanced – The Grim Reaper
  4. Alek Szahala – Dryad Machine
  5. Horzi – Human Hater
  6. Substanced & Alchemiist – Skullcrush
  7. Alek Szahala – Maruuk
  8. Grimsoul – Badboy
  9. Substanced – Shadows of Tomorrow
  10. Nick 235 & Solution – Vampires

Thanks to Suncore for letting me know about his FINRG fan group, which can be found here. Russian-reading Horsers might not be too numerous, but the group is more of a collection of links and video than a message board, and could be well worth keeping an eye on for anything you might have missed.

Only a few days before the voting closes in Mark EG’s You’ve got Talent contest, but that’s enough time to show some support to TYFTH regular and scene stalwart BEEZEE. Everyone’s favourite Welsh-dwelling Mancunian DJ has entered a couple of sets, but his excellent The Kraken seems to be the one gathering the most votes. Head along to the CORE site before 9th July and do the right thing.

The other sets will be appearing soon, but Substanced is first on the upload with his mix of promos and classic anthems. By all accounts this one went down well on the night, soon settling nicely into FINRG territory with quality selections that include some of Substanced’s brand new material.

  1. Transcend & Greg Peaks – Distant Shores
  2. Aryx – Sylph
  3. Substanced – Ghost of the Future
  4. Pain On Creation & Nomic – Chameleon
  5. Eryk Orpheus – PVC (Lost Soul Remix)
  6. Substanced – Stockholm Syndrome
  7. Substanced – The End of All Things (Aryx Remix)
  8. DJ RX – Frozen Flame
  9. Endemic & Lost Soul – Voice of the Eclipse
  10. Substanced & Alchemiist – Skullcrush
  11. Ephexis & Seventy 7 – Quantum Fury
  12. Alek Szahala – Barber’s Adagio For Strings
  13. A.B – Relax

Brilliantly I’ve been so busy that I haven’t even had a chance to give a shout for the event I’m playing at! Most will have seen the news already, but Chip, Midas and the Munted! crew have gone beyond the call of duty with a massive event on Krafty Radio this month. First of all I’m very grateful to all the Freeform Forum folk who voted for my return this time around (alongside Substanced), making it a real Japanese takeover with Le Dos-on and Betwixt & Between. Three hours of Tokyo/Nagoya freeform, that’s even more than you’d hear at a Japanese event these days (!).

It looks like I’ll once again be going without sleep to somehow rustle something up before a week Saturday, but what an opportunity for the Japan crew. Stay tuned for set times!

Proteus has just uploaded the opening track for his upcoming ErilaZ live spectacular with Adam Lab 4 on drums, and what a monster it is. Showing Proteus’ understanding of how to get a crowd going, this is another genre-crossing effort with industrial, hardcore and even some golden-era drum and bass breaks. Quality stuff, I’d love to see some more from the set as and when.
