Seems that the next Operation Karma will be held during this event, which will use the main floor of Studio Cube. Fans of this kind of thing will be in their element, but the rest of us will be heading to the 4th floor, where Minagi and MT have managed to book Lunch, Kaz-B, P.R.D and DJ 490 (!). KA-NA will be the main reason I have to get to this one, but I’ve also noticed that scene dance specialist DAIRIN seems to be DJing too.

ConfigSys PROJECT – Ode To Charli by FINRG Recordings

Check the FINRG SoundCloud now and you should find three new releases from Australia’s ConfigSys PROJECT. All of them were big hits at FUNERAL, and are definitely up there as some of my favourite ConfigSys tunes so far. The three tracks are the vocal/guitar driven LUST, the dark and twisty Sinews of thy Heart and Ode to Charli (above), a great track that did some serious damage in Nagoya.

Just a quick commercial break to draw your attention to the FINRG Recordings page on Facebook, too – become a fan there and you’ll get a link to SoundCloud the moment a new track is released.

Chanel5 – Never Forget (Alek Szahala Remake) by FINRG Recordings

A new release from Alek Szahala is now up on SoundCloud, with his demented hardcore rework of an old Scream Tracker module, Never Forget. Personally I love this one – it’s not the next Iron Squid, but I’d be really keen to hear a few more mod reworks in this style.

edit: What’s more, Alek has also added the amazing Solar Hive to the download section of his site. It might already be six years old, but has all the features of a classic Alek track – eerie chords, lovely breakdown and the crazy attacking synth sections. I’ll definitely be playing this one next month…

ConfigSys PROJECT has just released an awesome promo video, with dark and moody semi-apocalyptic scenes segueing scarily well into footage from FUNERAL in Nagoya and other events. Playing in the background is one of my favourites from CFS, Pariahs Son.

Fans of ConfigSys should keep watching this space during the next day or two for more good news…

I keep meaning to get more into dark psy, and it looks like ZAMURAI might be a good place to start. Cogi is probably already aware of this one – the sound is almost exactly what he plays these days at Romancer.

I’ve heard of a couple of the Japanese artists here (most obviously Savage Scream), but as you’ll see from the album description there are also tracks from Brazil, Mexico and Macedonia. Here’s a copy/paste of the tracklist (with bpms, handily), and there is a list of places selling the CD (a few with audio samples) at the bottom of the album’s release page.

1. KZ / Zamuraiz / 144BPM
2. SAVAGE SCREAM / Fester / 150BPM
3. NECROPSYCHO / Enjoy for Your Funeral / 151BPM
4. AUDIOPATHIK / Devastation / 156BPM
5. DEMONIAC INSOMNIAC / Atom Eater / 156 BPM
6. PHOBOS AZAZEL / Ad-Da / 149BPM
7. NOISE GUST / Zone / 156BPM
8. FATAL DISCORD / Grome / 160BPM
9. VORTEX / Realize ( Too Fast Too Live RMX by FAR EAST GHOST ) / 162BPM
10. FAR EAST GHOST vs SPEED DEMON feat. DEATHCO from VENT OF AGAINST / The War / XXXBPM

The flyer for next month’s NRGetic Romancer is complete, and we’ve got a nice simple design this time – with all the DJ info, that’s maybe no bad thing. Instead of the Live at Creamfields set, it’s looking like the promo CD will be a special BOOTEK mix to mark the Japan tour.

An interesting new track from Subi has just gone up on FINRG’s SoundCloud, another rework of the ever-popular Requiem for a Dream theme. It’s a nice track and has some lovely sounds, but it’ll be a difficult one to get into faster sets.

It reminded me though of Beliar’s excellent freeform version, My Tower. It got a lot of play back in the day, but that was quite a while ago now, so there might be a few people unfamiliar with it. Very much worth checking out, but I couldn’t find it with a quick web search.. edit – Luckily BerN actually knows how to search for something, so we’ve now got this link: http://klubitus.org/musiikki.php?id=3920
